高める vs. 上げる：What's the difference?
高める：Improve the ability and some related things.
上げる：Lift something up (physically).
When you want to say that you want to improve your Japanese ability, you should say:
わたしは日本語能力を高めたいです。
DON'T USE 上げる.
おさらい vs. 復習: What's the difference?
意味はよく似ていますが、「おさらい」は例えばピアノのレッスンなどで使い、大学などの授業での復習の意味では普通使いません。 意味はおなじですが、「おさらいする」は少し子供っぽい言い方な気がします。大人が子供(自分より年下の人)に言う感じです。 おさらい＝ 御復習（おさら）い： review 復習： review Both have the same meaning. There are two types words in Japanese, one is 和語（わご／the original Japanese words）, the other is 漢語（かんご／the words from China in old period）. 「おさらい」is わご, 「復習」is かんご. In traditional Japanese arts and performing arts, the word "おさらい" is used.
